MLK Day of Service

What is the MLK Day of Service?
The MLK Day of Service began in 2013 as a way to provide Perkiomen Valley School District students with the opportunity to volunteer in their community on the federal holiday celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It has grown over the last six years to include hundreds of students from all grade levels.

How can I get involved?
The PVSD Day of Service Steering Committee includes the following administrative members:

Jessica Lester, Manager of School and Community Engagement
Patti Colucci, Graduation Project/Career Elective Coordinator
Cyndi Moss, Lead Principal at Perkiomen Valley High School
Ryan Stanson-Marsh, Blue House Principal at Perkiomen Valley High School
Sean Berk, Red House Principal at Perkiomen Valley High School

Our team also includes many parent volunteers. If you have questions about how to get involved, please email one of the administrative members by clicking on the blue hyperlink above. Thank you!

If you are a student, please let us know you're interested in serving by completing this online survey and we'll be in touch about important dates.

I'd like to learn more about the activities that take place. Where can I find more information?
The MLK Day of Service offers a variety of opportunities for students based on their age. For elementary and middle school students who don't yet drive, they can participate in service project stations that are set up at the high school and are run by high school volunteer leaders. High school students have the option to volunteer at the high school and helping their younger peers, or they can pick a local organization to support and arrange transportation to that location the day of the event.
