The PA Department of Health has changed the immunization requirements for school age children for the 2017-18 school year.

The updated guidelines include:
  • A child must have a single dose vaccine on the first day of school or at least one dose of a multi-dose vaccine on the first day of school or risk exclusion
  • Additional doses of a vaccine -- either the next scheduled dose or the final dose -- must be obtained during the first five days of school year.
  • Medical certification with a physician’s signature must be provided with the schedule of the remaining doses.
A child may still obtain an exemption from immunizations for medical reasons, religious beliefs, or strong philosophical, moral or ethical convictions
