General Information
Below is some general information you may need to know. If you can't find something here that you are looking for, let me know and I can help you out.

Absent Note
If your child is absent, please be sure to call and/or email the school.
Phone: (610)-409-6060 and press #3
Email: Skippack Attendance – SKattendance@pvsd.org

Behavior/Discipline
Individual: clip chart that allows for students to move up and down on depending on their behavior. This chart is to help show the positive behavior in the classroom.

Group: students will work in their own table group to earn points. Points will be rewarded for working together to follow directions, complete tasks, and show good teamwork.

Whole Class: the class will work together to receive marbles to fill up a jar. The class can receive a marble for good behavior at lunch, recess, special, in the hallway, and in the classroom. Class compliments count as double marbles. Once the jar is filled the class will decide on an activity or prize.

Birthdays
Most children like to celebrate their birthdays at school. If you would like to send in a non-food/non-latex birthday treat for your child, please feel free to do so. Please just give me a quick heads-up so I know. Summer birthdays will be celebrated in June. We currently have 20 students in our class. STUDENTS MAY NOT HAND OUT ANY BIRTHDAY PARTY INVITATIONS IN CLASS

Family Trips
If you are going on a family trip during the school year and your child will be missing school, you must fill out an educational trip form. The form must be handed in one week before the trip and approved in order for absences to be considered excused.

Homework
Daily homework is to:
1. Read 15 minutes
2. Practice writing trick words

I encourage you to check out the Reading Wonders, Math in Focus, and Fundations pages of the website for extra practice pages for you to print at home for your child to complete as you feel necessary. Regularly assigned worksheet homework will not be assigned unless deemed necessary by me for a particular student(s).

Recess/Lunch
Your child will eat lunch each day from 10:50-11:20.
Your child will have recess every day from 1:10-1:30.

Pick-Up
When you need to pick up your child from school whether it is during the school day or at the end of the day, you MUST notify the school and me. You can do this by sending in a note with your child or emailing me AND Monica Zacharias (mzacharias@pvsd.org) in the office.

HERO Binder

Your child has a HERO (Have Everything Ready and Organized) binder that he/she takes home every day. This binder has inside an agenda book (assignment book) and Skippack folder. The Skippack folder will have your child’s assignments, important papers, and papers from the day that can stay home. Be aware of the “keep at home” and “return to school” sides.  This is an effective way for us to communicate. There will be many notes in there from me or from the school that may be important. Please be sure to check your child’s Skippack folder every night.

Snack
Students may bring in a snack to eat every day, but there is no guarantee that they will get a chance to eat it. We will not be taking a break to eat, but will continue to work during this time so it does not take away from the instructional day. If your child does bring in a snack, please make sure it is healthy and non-peanut/tree nut. Pretzels, crackers, fruit, veggies, goldfish, and animal crackers are some suggestions. PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN JUICE OR CANDY. Your child may bring in a water bottle to drink from throughout the day.

Water Bottles
Your child may bring in a water bottle to drink from throughout the day. Water bottles are kept in student cubbies at all times to prevent any spills on desks. Your child may leave his/her water bottle in the classroom during the week. All water bottles must go home on Friday afternoons.
