Reading Specialist at Skippack Elementary School
About Me
My name is Chris Halus and I am the Reading Specialist at Skippack Elementary School. I started my career in PV in 2001, after working for 5 years as a social worker. I earned my MSW from The Catholic University of America in 1996, and my MEd from Arcadia University in 2000. I spent 9 awesome years teaching 4th grade at Skippack Elementary. My passion for teaching reading and writing grew during this time, and I decided to enroll in St. Joseph’s University's Reading Specialist Certification program. In 2008 I moved to kindergarten where I was continually inspired by our youngest learners. After teaching kindergarten for 5 years, I moved to the district office where I served as ELA/SS Curriculum and Instruction Specialist. In 2019, I decided it was time to return to my roots and come back to elementary. I am pleased to support teachers and students as the Reading Specialist at Skippack. In my free time, my husband and I are very busy with our boys who LOVE sports of all kinds. I enjoy exercising daily, reading, and scrapbooking, as well as spending as much time at the beach with my mom as I can. |
