Courses for 2019-2020:

Global Studies
Global Studies is designed for students to gain a broad overview of the physical and cultural geography and the histories of Asia, Africa and Latin America.  The topics covered in this course include: geography, population, colonialism, hunger, disease, human rights, and religion and will be discussed with the above mentioned areas of the world in mind.  We will be studying the contributions of these world cultures, as well as recognizing the relationships between the physical geography and the human geography of places outside of Europe and the United States.  Through projects, research, discussion, and collaborative work students will demonstrate an understanding of both contemporary social issues and the cultural history of the countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Psychology is defined as the scientific study of the mind and behavior.  In this course you will be introduced to the scientific method and the core ideas and theories of psychology.  From this you will gain an understanding of the complexities and diversity of human thought and behavior. This class will offer you insights into how and why humans feel, think and behave as we do.  We will explore how the core ideas and theories of psychology fit into the everyday world.
