My Classes

The mission of the Perkiomen Valley School District is to provide a rich academic and cultural learning environment that maximizes available resources to assure that all students grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally, attaining the skills necessary to become successful citizens.

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY
Anatomy and Physiology is designed for you to learn more about the human body. You will learn about all of the major systems of the body. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between structure and function of body organs and their role in maintaining overall body homeostasis. Required laboratory work involves dissection of a cat, microscope work and physiology labs. This class is an extremely rigorous course requiring a deep understanding of the material. The class will have a double lab period for each lab cycle.

BIOLOGY
The world biology means the “study of life”. The characteristics and activities of living things are investigated. Emphasis is placed on understanding the following: the nature of scientific inquiry, the organization of living things, the differences in living things, the biological basis of your health and medicine, and the place of man in nature and his relationship with other living things. You are guided in this study of living things by the instructor who will help you explore each topic. In the laboratory, keen observation and good scientific techniques are emphasized. Successful completion of General Biology provides the required science credit for graduation and content for selecting advanced biological science courses in high school and college.
