Do you love to read new books, collaborate with friends and engage in friendly competition?

If you answered YES to any of those questions, Reading Olympics is meant for you!  Reading Olympics is a group of fifth grade students who are motivated to be lifelong readers.  Reading Olympians read more than they typically do in a school year, read a greater variety of books and enjoy the excitement of reading and discussing books.  Teams of 8 to 12 students work together to read 45 books from the Reading Olympics list.  We meet once a week to practice answering questions about the books by collaborating as a team.

On the night of the Reading Olympics event, all teams participate in three rounds of questioning.  We work all year after school to prepare for this event.  We meet on Mondays after school.
