Welcome to fifth grade and room 2 for what promises to be a fun and challenging school year! My name is Mr. Matthew Young and I am entering my twenty-fourth year teaching fifth grade in the Perkiomen Valley School District. I am a lifelong resident and graduate of our amazing school district. My teachers so many years ago cultivated a love for learning within me that I can only hope to share with the students in my charge. Upon graduation, I headed northwest to Williamsport, PA to earn my undergraduate degree and play four years of college football. I could not wait to return home and begin teaching elementary school for our district. I have since earned my master’s degree in elementary education while helping my wife raise our three daughters. Coaching our high school’s football team continues to enrich my life even further. I am proud to teach the children in our community all while being able to watch my daughters experience the same topnotch education that our schools continue to provide!
