My Classes

The mission of the Perkiomen Valley School District is to provide a rich academic and cultural learning environment that maximizes available resources to assure that all students grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally, attaining the skills necessary to become successful citizens.

Algebra II
This course will emphasize both the structure and application of second year Algebra. It serves as a basis for those who wish to pursue the study of higher mathematics or its many applications to science. In this course, you will study the following topics: sets, real numbers, complex numbers, linear systems, polynomials, exponents, radicals, higher degree equations and series. The use of technology for problem solving will be included as appropriate. It is recommended that each student purchase a graphing calculator to use in this course.

Algebra I
This course is offered to students who have demonstrated an understanding of pre-algebraic concepts. Topics addressed include number systems and their relationships, computation and estimation, solving linear equations and inequalities, exploring functions and their graphs, solving systems of equations and inequalities, properties of exponents and roots, operations with polynomials, solving quadratic expressions, and solving rational equations. This course will emphasize real world applications, recognizing patterns, data analysis, and interpretation of the algebraic concepts. Use of technology for problem solving will be included.
Note: The Algebra I Keystone Exam will be taken upon the successful completion of Algebra I

Algebra IA
Algebraic topics will be introduced in this course. The goal of the course will be to provide
students with an opportunity to practice algebraic concepts through the integration of graphical, numerical, analytical and verbal processes while building the groundwork for future success in the study of mathematics.This course will focus on interpretation of solutions in the context of the problem and will emphasize real world applications, recognizing patterns, and data analysis.
