The mission of the Perkiomen Valley School District is to provide a rich academic and cultural learning environment that maximizes available resources to assure that all students grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally, attaining the skills necessary to become successful citizens.

REMINDERS AS WE RETURN TO SCHOOL THIS YEAR:
  • Please conduct a symptom monitoring check every morning before your child comes to school.
  • Please keep your child home if they are sick.
  • Should you child become sick at school, we will follow the Montgomery County Office of Public Health algorithm to determine the next course of action.
  • You will be required to come and pick up your child if they have any of the following symptoms:
  • Group A

    1 or more symptoms

    Group B

    2 or more symptoms

    Cough

    Shortness of breath

New loss of taste or smell

    Fever (measured or subjective)

    Chills

    Fatigue

    Myalgia (muscle aches)

    Headache

    Sore throat

    Congestion

    Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea

Our regular health protocols remain in place:
  • Students with a fever of 100.4 degrees will be sent home from school.  They must be fever free for 24 hours without Tylenol or Ibuprofen before returning to school.
  • Children with vomiting and/or diarrhea related to a possible illness should be kept home until symptom free for 24 hours
  • Children with suspected infectious diseases (i.e. pink eye and unknown rashes) should be kept home until verification from your health care provider is obtained.
  • Medication (including over the counter medicine) may only be administered to your child with a physician’s order.   A new medication order from your physician is required at the start of each school year.  Parents are welcome to come to school and medicate their child as necessary.
Please be mindful there are many students with life threatening food allergies. No shared food will be allowed in the classrooms. Latex balloons or stress balls are not permitted in any school buildings throughout the district.

I look forward to working together as a Schwenksville family to keep everyone safe this year.  Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any concerns.
