Dear Second Grader,

Welcome to second grade!  My name is Mrs. Quinn and I am very excited to meet you and be your teacher this year.  I hope that you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer, but I also hope that you are looking forward to beginning second grade on Monday, August 27th.  It is going to be a fun-filled and busy year in room 17.

I am sure you will be out shopping for some new school supplies soon.  Here is a list of things that I would like you to bring on the first day of school:

~ Pencil Box – 8” x 5” only

~ Box of Crayola Crayons – 24 CT

~ Box of Tissues

~ Double Pocket Folder for homework (any style/design)

~ Box of Pre-Sharpened No. 2 Pencils for our class supply

~ Box of Chisel Tip Dry Erase Markers – 4 CT

~ Sock for use as a whiteboard eraser

~ Ear Buds or Headphones for computer use

I would also like you to bring in a small item that is special to you.  This item could be something that describes you, your hobbies, your family, or a summer adventure.  You, your new classmates, and I will have a chance to share the items we bring in during the first few days of school.

I am looking forward to seeing you in room 17 on

Monday, August 27th!

                                                                                    Sincerely,

       Mrs. Quinn J
