About Dr. Nicholson

Dr. Pete Nicholson joined the Perkiomen Valley School District with over two decades of experience in public education. A 2001 graduate of Ursinus College, Dr. Nicholson’s career began in the Allentown School District as a middle school health and physical education teacher. His passion for leadership led him to earn a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University in 2008, marking the start of his administrative career.

After serving as a middle school assistant principal in Allentown, Dr. Nicholson transitioned to North Penn High School in 2013. He served as an assistant principal before being named Principal in 2018. During his tenure as Principal, he began his doctoral studies at Wilkes University, earning his Ed.D. in K-12 Administration in 2024.

Most recently, Dr. Nicholson served in North Penn’s central office, where he oversaw five secondary schools and spearheaded the academic design for a major high school renovation project. This role allowed him to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to create “future-ready” learning environments; a mission he brings with him to PV. Throughout his career, Dr. Nicholson has remained steadfast in his student-centered approach, ensuring every decision serves the best interests of the learners he leads.

At home, Pete and his wife, Allison, are the proud parents of two teenage sons. He is an avid Philly sports fan who enjoys staying active and cooking for his family when time allows. He looks forward to serving the students, staff, and families of the Perkiomen Valley community for years to come.
