The Perkiomen Valley School District is dedicated to promoting equity, embracing diversity, and fostering inclusion in all our major endeavors. Our aim establish an enriching and supportive learning environment that ensures each student’s rightful educational journey. Guided by our District mission, vision, and beliefs outlined in our comprehensive plan, our steadfast commitment lies in delivering data-driven, high-quality instruction and creating secure and nurturing spaces for both our staff and students.

We remain steadfast in our pursuit of providing equal opportunities, cultivating inclusive atmospheres, and equipping students for lifelong accomplishments. 

Community Partnerships
Collaboration with Delaware Tribe of Indians, Ursinus College, and PVSD to provide many opportunities to support diversity, equity, and inclusion
Language Mentors
Established a Language Mentoring program whereas PV Students provide additional support to ELL students
Summer LIFT Program
Provide enrichment and remediation programs that help bridge the achievement gap and provide additional learning opportunities in the summer months
CAUSE Clubs
At the middle level, our CAUSE (Connecting and Uniting Students to Empower) Clubs promote student voice in the areas of diversity, social/emotional wellness, and community support. The CAUSE provides opportunities for students to engage in safe, productive conversations that are meant to create positive change in the overall building culture.
DIverse Clubs & Activities
Increase clubs and activities to students at the secondary level, including opportunities for traditionally marginalized students, ie. Black Student Union, Gay Straight Alliance (GSA), Safe Collective, and FCA
Middle School East & West
At the middle level, our CAUSE (Connecting and Uniting Students to Empower) Clubs promote student voice in the areas of diversity, social/emotional wellness, and community support. Natural Proportion Classrooms
Combined our academic and college prep levels into one level and are moving towards a more natural proportion of special education students in class (moving from 75-85% special ed students in a class to a max od 30% in most cases)
Athletic Equity Team
Created the Perkiomen Valley Athletic Equity Team. Our group's mission is to create, sustain, and support fair and equitable opportunities and treatment for all student-athletes across all programs and all gender identities within the Perkiomen Valley School District athletic programs.
Professional Development
As part of a 3-year PD plan staff regularly attend professional development on culturally responsive teaching, implicit bias, and inclusive practices.

The established equity policy actively promotes equity and inclusion in all facets of education.

Based on a 3-year PD plan, we provide ongoing training and professional development for teachers, staff, and administrators on culturally responsive pedagogy, implicit bias, and inclusive practices.
Diverse Curriculum
We diversify the curriculum to include a wider range of perspectives, cultures, and histories, ensuring that all students see themselves reflected in their education.
Inclusive Practices
Inclusive practices for students with disabilities have been implemented, ensuring access to the general education curriculum and extracurricular activities
English Language Learners
Develop specialized support programs and resources for ELL students to facilitate language acquisition and academic success, including our annual ELL Family Night
Transparent Data Collection
PVSD consistently collects and transparently reports data on student achievement, discipline, and other relevant metrics, breaking it down by race, gender, and other demographic factors.
Culturally Responsive Pedagogy
Staff effectively incorporates culturally responsive pedagogy in their classrooms, and throughout the building, valuing the diverse experiences of students
Family Outreach
Provide resources and training to help parents support their children's education at home, especially for families facing socio-economic challenges.
Anti-Bullying & Anti-Harassment Programs
Implemented programs addressing bullying, harassment, and discrimination, fostering a safe and inclusive school environment
Reflection & Improvement:
The school district consistently evaluates and adapts equity initiatives based on data and community feedback, ensuring sustained progress and improvement
Cultural Celebrations
Recognize cultural holidays and events from various backgrounds throughout the school year, helping students to learn about different traditions and celebrations.
Mental Health Resources
Collaborate with mental health professionals and organizations to offer counseling and mental health support services to students, addressing emotional and psychological barriers to academic success
