Federal Programs

The U.S. Department of Education (USDE) created the Title Program to provide under-resourced school communities with the support needed to help all students access equitable educational opportunities and achieve success alongside their peers.

Each year, between late spring and early summer, the USDE releases preliminary allocation amounts to help school districts plan for the upcoming academic year. These preliminary figures are subject to change and may increase or decrease. Final allocation amounts are typically released by the USDE in February or March.

At this time, the USDE has only released preliminary Title I, Part A (Title IA) funding for the 2026–27 school year. Allocations for Title II, Part A (Title IIA), Title III, and Title IV, Part A (Title IVA) remain on hold. For your reference, both the preliminary allocations for 2026–27 and the final allocations for 2025–26 are outlined below.

26-27 School Year
Preliminary allocations are as follows:

  • Title IA –  Improving Basic Programs  – $193,423
    • PVSD operates Title I Targeted Assistance Programs in three of our buildings (Schwenksville, South, & PV West) in order to provide the needed flexibility to provide supplemental services to any student who’s identified as needing additional support or personalized instruction. This funding also supports Title IA eligible students in local private and parochial schools.
  • Title IIA – Supporting Effective Instruction – $73,940
    • The purpose of Title IIA funds is to provide students access to educators that are highly qualified and effective in helping them meet the challenging state academic standards. PVSD utilizes student performance data to determine the needs of buildings, grade levels, and departments. Based upon student performance, professional development is prioritized to those areas of higher need. While goals may be similar across schools, the action plans developed vary based upon the need and readiness of the individual schools and staff. This funding also supports Title IIA eligible local private and parochial schools.
  • Title III – Language Instruction for English Learners TBD
    • In order to assist EL students in developing English proficiency and meeting the Commonwealth’s rigorous academic standards, PVSD participates in a consortium with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) to provide consultation, professional development, and coaching regarding effective English Learner instructional practices.
  • Title IVA – Student Support and Academic Enrichment – $14,752
    • Title IV funding supports access to a well-rounded education and improved learning conditions. The Days of Service engages students, families, and the community in fostering cultural understanding and civic involvement. Through our partnership with Penn’s Graduate School of Education Coalition for Educational Excellence (CEE), we gain access to innovative resources and expert support. This strengthens our commitment to equitable, high-quality learning opportunities and the removal of institutional barriers that limit access.

26-27 School Year Total Title Allocation – TBD

25-26 School Year
Final allocations are as follows:

  • Title IA –  Improving Basic Programs  – $196,489
