We would like to introduce you to a wonderful program running in the Evergreen Library – our Birthday Book Program. Through this program you can donate a book to our school library in honor of your child’s birthday. This allows you to do something special for your child and our school at the same time. Last year, families donated over 200 new books to our library!
When you purchase a book with this program, we will do the following:
Put a special bookplate in the front of the book with your child’s name.
Present the book to your child during the closest scheduled library session to his/her birthday.
Check out the brand new book to your child to take home and share with you.
In short, we will do our best to make your child feel special!
If you are interested in participating in this program, please fill out the form in the Birthday Book Program link to the right and return the form to school no later than Monday, September 18, 2023. We will start presenting books in October. If your child’s birthday is in June, July, August, September or October, we will celebrate on his/her “half-year” birthday. Forms are appreciated in September but are accepted all year.
Do you have a morning or afternoon free? Do you like to see things neat and orderly? If so, then Evergreen Elementary Library is the place for you! We are recruiting volunteers for our Evergreen Library. Jobs for volunteers include checking books in and out for students, putting away books, reading shelves (putting books in alphabetical order or numerical order), and, helping children locate books in the Library.
If you are interested in volunteering, please email the library assistant, Mrs. Bridget Komara bkomara@pvsd.org
Remember that all adults working in the building with children must submit the District’s security forms that can be obtained on PVSD website.
If you cannot help on a regular basis, please consider being a one-time volunteer during our annual Book Fair in March. More information will be sent home later in the year for Book Fair volunteers. Thank you for your help.
