Title I services are offered to academically challenged students in select schools across the District. Schools qualify for Title I funds to provide these services when the percentage of students participating in free and reduced lunch exceeds the District’s average across all schools.
During the 2023-24 school year South Elementary School will be provided Title I funding affording qualifying students supplemental services in any core academic or elective subject, although the District focuses the supplemental instruction on English Language Arts (Reading and Writing) and Mathematics. These supplemental services can take place as part of a “push into the classroom” model or a “pull out,” and tend to extend for approximately 30 minutes beyond the instructional time dedicated to the core curriculum.
